We ask that anyone who has the means to support these broadcasts consider contributing a cover charge or ticket price - just as you would to see to see these outstanding performers in a club or concert hall. Our suggested amount is $20 per person, but of course, any amount will help - and for those who are able to do more, we welcome that. While these streams can never replace the lost income these performers face, every little bit helps. The FOURantine Quartet came about as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. While sheltering in place four longtime veterans of the DMV jazz scene found a way to utilize cutting-edge technology to rehearse simultaneously from their homes. On August 9th they will be performing together in person for the first time at Blue House Studios. The quartet’s individual credits include performances with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, The DIVA Jazz Orchestra, The National Symphony Orchestra, Kennedy Center productions, and premiere DC service bands. Their program of original music reflects influences from such great composers as Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, and later Miles Davis. FOURantine’s members are Leigh Pilzer, saxophone; Amy Shook, bass; Tony Nalker, piano; and Frank Russo, drums.
