Exploring Antarctica
Amy Shook was honored to be invited to perform an improvised bass solo that is featured on a washingtonpost.com slideshow documentary about Antarctica. Photographer George Steinmetz (a regular contributor to National Geographic Magazine, www.georgesteinmetz.com) recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation to photograph the Polar Desert of Antarctica. Click on "The Frozen Desert" and select "Dry Valleys" from the menu to watch an amazing slideshow of his photographs accompanied by my earnest attempt to capture the essence of these amazing landscapes and images.
